Daisy-Petal Plucking

My daughter should be upstairs, watching a short video before she goes to bed at her scheduled bedtime in twenty minutes.

Instead, she’s in the backyard, wrestling five-feet tall daisies to the ground so she can pluck their petals. She’s wearing fuzzy footy pajamas and her yellow rainboots. When I went out to take her picture, she pointed to the sky and said, “Look! A tiny moon!”

She is addicted to flower-petal plucking. I need to make her stop and go to bed. But I can’t. God made two-year olds this cute so you don’t keep them in a closet, gagged, until they turn four.

I came in through Carla’s blog. I’ve always meant to come by and say hello. I just thought it was kind of co-incidental that I am also forty and have been married eighteen years.

    Hi there!

Ha! You painted this picture so well, I couldn’t help but see her standing there.

How precious! A moment in life to truly treasure and remember. Always.

So glad you took a photo. I’d love to see it!

    Hope you are doing well…

How sweet! Yep, it’s moments like those that keep mothers from eating their young. ;)

    Ah,
40 with a precious two-year old daughter…it is a wonder-filled thing…It is also a good thing the 40 is the new 30…I know as I’m personally going through it right now, too!

Gagged in a closet? Yes, I suppose that’s a way to go. I was thinking of something frstlymil pointed us to on another blog…

Jonathan Swift’s A Modest Proposal, which advocates the devouring of the tender young morsels in an effort to control the population.

    (Yes, people… he was kidding…. sheesh….)

    Hmph… gagged in a closet… I never would have thought of that….

I am dreading the 3′s in a big way.

Yeah, I woulda let her pluck the petals too!

I think 3 is both one of the most fun and one of the most challenging ages. We’re in the middle of it too.

Oh, Gina. Don’t dread the three’s… Even though they lose the “babiness” in the three’s, it’s such a fun age. And they’re still very cute.

I thought the twos were terrible when my oldest went through them until she hit three. It was definately worse.

Now my second is two-and-a-half. I fear the fun is about to begin.
