I often feel bad for my family that I have to make myself "be present" for them, and not spend time wishing I were by myself. My husband wonders why I enjoy going to Fred Meyer so much (as in thrice weekly), and it's because of the hour of free babysitting in the Playland. I can actually grab a coffee, do some grocery shopping without "can I have gum? please? some pink gum? juss a little gum?", and catch up on a phone call or two. It does wonders for my sanity. p.s. you must finish your book. I will be one of the first to buy it. Mel, your week sounds wonderful. I was in Long Beach with my kids and my parents last week too. We spent a lot of time on the beach flying kites, we too climbed to the top of a light house and played pinball. We were treated terribly at the pinball arcade by a teenage boy who was working there and it took a lot of the joy away from finding a place full of pinball machines. We are hoping to go back in the next week or two as my parents are staying for the month in their RV. It was my first time there and I loved it! That sound lovely!
