Blog Tour: Woogi World

My six-year old has been using the computer since she was three years old. While we do have our favorite sites, I’m always happy to hear about new online destinations for kids. One of the latest is Woogi World, a virtual world where kids can play games online, complete tasks offline and do something nice for their fellow Woogis.

But what is a Woogi, you ask? A Woogi is a creature the child owns and can accessorize and dress. And the Woogi lives in a Wigwam, which is also customizable.

Woogi World is also meant for good. As the site says:

Children need to be taught proper Internet principles while they are young. The Children’s Way Woogi World™ Program is a free program for elementary aged students (K-6) that teaches children how to balance their lives, how to use the internet for good, and how to serve and contribute to their local communities. These activities are created with the No Child Left Behind Standards, and reinforce what your children are learning in school. Children participate in these educational activities in a virtual World called Woogi World™. The program consists of a 10 minute school assembly to launch the program for kids and their parents at home. The program is simple, requires little effort on the school’s behalf, and is at no cost to selected Elementary Schools.

Cool, right? Woogi World has partnered with Studies Weekly and Humane Society. Your kids might already know about it. It’s a lot of fun, plus a safe place for your kids to play. (We didn’t use the chat since my daughter can’t read quite yet. But the games were a blast!)

Oh, and it’s free! Check it out.
