I just sent my 10 year old out the door in tears because I insisted he BRUSH the bed head out of his hair. I brushed it for him and he told me he was not leaving the house like that. He then stuck his entire head under the faucet, soaked his head and came out of the bathroom looking like a total fool. I feel bad about yelling at him and sending him off in the car pool looking like that, and sending him off in tears, and for pretty much everything on the face of the earth. What will become of us when he's a teen?

Oh no, my 6 and 8 yo fight, can't wait (can) until they are older and can inflict MORE pain and screaming!
My prayers are with you and your family for peace (for everyone) during this hard time. How fortunate that all the family can be with your grandmother at this time. What a blessing!

I'll keep you in my thoughts for a safe journey and a peaceful visit with your family.

The death of a loved one is always hard; even when we know they've lived a long, full life.

My kids are all great friends, NOW. Why it couldn't be THEN when they all lived at home, I do not know.

You certainly have a lot going on.

Eventually, one misses the noise and keeps the grandkids over night.

We just went through the haircut with our 11 year old yesterday. And to think, children in some parts of the world may not ever be tortured this way - instead they live in shanty towns without running water or electricity...

My prayers for your family through your grandmother's passing.

Those 5-year-old girls can talk up a storm, can't they? Makes you appreciate those strong silent boys.

The bickering is going to kill me. Bit by bit...
