Want a free book?

Would you like a free copy of Mary DeMuth’s newest book, Authentic Parenting in a Postmodern Culture? If so, leave a comment. I’ll do a drawing Saturday morning.

If you are not the lucky winner, you can purchase an autographed copy of her book here: click here.

Meanwhile, tell me. What are you reading now? I’m in the middle of Mark Helprin’s A Soldier of the Great War.

Ahh, to think…an opportunity for a free book brought me out of lurking!

Our local library recently had their annual used book sale and I confess to not only purchasing way too many books as usual, but also lingering through the pages of many of them right now :-) Ahhh, bliss! But the book I’ve been consistently reading every night before bed is Woman After God’s Own Heart by Elizabeth George.

    Blessings,
    Tammy ~@~

Would you believe “Little Women” for about the eleventy thousandth time? I was cleaning my daughter’s room, found it and got sucked in. I still love it and still want to be Jo when I grow up.

My son had some summer reading for his English class and now that he’s finished the book, I decided to read it. I’m reading “To Kill A Mockingbird” again. I remember reading it in school but that’s been so long ago, I cant remember how old I was!

Love, love, LOVE Mark Helprin! A Winter’s Tale is probably one of my all time favorite books.

All my books are buried in boxes in the garage.

Except, that is, for my cookbooks.

Still no stove though, so it’s purely recreational reading.

    Does “Good Night Gorilla” count?

I think I read that one six times today.

I would LOVE a free book! Right now I’m reading The Feminine Mistake. It’s driving me crazy, but I’m powering through.

Did you say FREE BOOK?! And about parenting … I think I need that these days LOL!
I just finished (today) For the Children’s Sake and started A Charlotte Mason Education.

Yes, I’d love a free copy. But feel free to exclude me if overseas shipping is a bit much to you.

Current reading: Carpe Demon, Ask Your Guides, The Complete Tarot Reader, various Comics. I can tell that our tastes are vastly different.

I am reading “The Friendships of Women” by Dee Brestin, and “The Peace Maker” by Ken Sande. I would love (and NEED) a parenting book right now…Thanks for the contest.

I’m reading a book by Lisa Harper, “Holding out for a Hero”. It is a “different’ kind of Bible study on Hebrews. The one she has out on the Song of Solomon is awesome.

Crossing fingers I win the book this time. With 5 kids there is always a pull to read every new parenting book that comes along. =o)

I read a review of that book the other day and it sparked my interest. . .

Currently. . . studying statistics and “fun” reading has been put aside. Though, I did read HP7 aloud to the family.

I’ve been wanting to read that book! I started “Me, Myself and Bob” by Phil Vischer this morning. Already had to read funny bits to whoever was sitting near me. But also thoughtful. I think it’ll be a good book.

  20. cjmr August 4, 2007 at 6:43 pm #

Having finished HP7 a couple nights ago, and having been visiting a friend ever since, I’ve not got a book going right now and won’t until I make it to the library Tuesday.

But I’d love a free book!

I don’t want the book (live too far away plus it is after Saturday now anyway) but I just finished Never Let Me GO by Kazuo Ishiguro and had to stay up to 3am on Sunday morning to finish it – a great read that I heartily recommend.

I’m skimming Eagle Pond, by Donald Hall. (I used to own Seasons at Eagle Pond, which I loved but gave away. It’s included in this compilation. I liked the original cover, paper, and typeface better. I can’t believe what a difference the change makes.)
