Blogs in Focus
In the flurry of last-minute preparations, I started to fret about my “Blog in Focus” feature over there on the left sidebar. See that? I try to highlight about ten blogs from my very long reciprocal blogroll . . . knowing that it would take forever for readers to actually click through the whole blogroll. Anyway, I like to give an assortment of my blog-friends the spot-light on the front page.
But the problem is that I can’t remember now who I’ve highlighted already. It’s clearly gotten out of hand. So, here’s where you come in.
Would you like me to focus on your blog by adding the link to the front page over there? If so, leave me a comment here. I’m taking suggestions. (Really, I just want you to do the work for me because I have to vacuum.)
Nominate yourself! And that’s an order! (And give us a little summary of what your blog is all about, okay?)

I wouldn’t normally nominate myself for something, but since it’s an order and all…
My blog is about the crazy zanny shananigans of my 4 hooligans in our house which resembles a zoo at times. It’s also about whatever my sleep deprived brain comes up with… It’s a mom blog that’s not always about the kids…
LOL!
I LOVE your blog. I’d be honored to be in your focus. Do I have to admit I’ve been lurking? I’m a writer, editor, teacher, and mom to four little menches. I take life with a grain of salt and occasionally a little vodka. Thanks!
My blog is about satisfying thirsty souls, more specifically my own thirsty soul; it’s the only one over which I have any control. Currently there is a heavy emphasis on weight loss and exercise because that’s where I am in my journey.
Heck, I’ll nominate myself!
My blog used to be my husband’s blog. He does a pediatric podcast in which he answers parent’s questions. He also had the blog arm of that endeavour. Well, he got too busy. So he asked me to take over. And I reluctantly did!
The blog is about whatever happens to be on my mind that day. Kid stuff, medical stuff, news items, crazy family happenings….you name it, it’s probably there.
Hope you’ll come over and take a peek.
Ok, well, my blog could stand a little nomination. It chronicles my struggles with weight loss, the antics of my family, and the occasional deep thought that crosses my brain’s synapses.
And stuff.
Me too, me too…
I was an at home mom for many years and now I’m a well baby nursery/occasional post-partum nurse who went to nursing school in her mid-40s and graduated almost 3 years ago. I’ve spent the past six months losing my own postpartum weight (ok – it was only 18 years late) thanks to Mel’s inspiration. My husband is my pastor (career change for him 2 years ago). I have 4 mostly grown up children – including two (sons) who have served in Iraq. The two younger (daughters) homeschooled at their request for their middle and high school years. They’re not twins but we skipped a grade for the youngest one – because we could. They’re preparing to transfer to a four year college and I’m preparing for my almost empty nest – and depression – because I really like them.
So I write about nurse stuff, breastfeeding – since I help with that in my job, books, weight loss and weight plateaus, family, friends – and wish I could write like Mel. I like the internet and reading blogs too much, but I don’t really want help yet.
Come on by.
My blog is very new so I would love to have a few more readers! I am a Christian mom of 2 (soon to be 3) currently living in South Korea, and I started blogging about my struggle to look past my circumstances and focus on Jesus and the spiritual realities of life.
I’ve been in focus before, but you can put me there again if you like! I love reading the comments here so far, too. I will check all of these blogs above out!
Steph
I second Steph’s comment about checking all these blogs out. They look awesome!
I write both reviews of the books I read (my goal is one a week. . . ) and then just entries about life, etc.
I’ve been in focus before, and it REALLY raised my stats.
Which are slumping, now.
My blog serves to prove that I am a boring person.
For instance, today I posted a picture of my grandson’s first skinned knee.
Nominate myself?! I’m not sure that my mother would think it polite. ;~)
I am Bonnie, Bernadette, Belle, and/or Babette, depending on my mood and the number of times I have tried to quit blogging. I enjoy encouraging young mothers and I love to share the yoga love. My wonderful husband of 31 years prefers that I not get too personal on my blog, so I mainly stick to dry, stuffy art history lessons and such. I gravitate toward fun blogs like Mel’s!
Days to Come
http://laughter4daystocome.blogspot.com/index.html
Sit-com commentary on everyday life. With the occasional deep post.
I write about myself and my family or whatever pops into my head that moves me to write.
Oh, Mel, I am so HONORED to be a blog in focus! Thank you!
Can you come vacuum for me too?
I totally understand, I am trying to sell a house and I have done enough vacuuming for the both of us.
Blessing.
I’ve been in focus too. Can’t say enough about the Mel-effect. Really.
No nomination for my blog—I just wanted to let you know it’s a cool idea.
I might be too blurry to be “in focus”…but I’ll let you know about my blog anyway.
I write about the everyday…no detail is too mundane for me to leave out. I’m a scrapbooker, so I’ll frequently post some layouts just to add color to the world. I don’t get a lot of traffic, and I don’t care one way or the other…how about that?

Thanks so much for focusing on my blog this time.
Pick me! Pick me! I’m a mom of five, and my blog is usually just “snippets” of our life. Sometimes I get on a tangent–like about disability awareness (my oldest has Down syndrome) or about injustice or…well just STUFF! I’m a little bit crunchy, but not totally. And I love to embarrass my children by using goofy things they say as my quotes of the day!
I’m a little late getting here this time, but why not? I’m a driller’s wife, stay at home mom, and I blog about whatever happens to be on my mind. Lately, it’s the mystery illness, the lump in my breast, and the kids. Sometimes the husband makes an appearance, but not very often because I respect his sense of privacy.
Stuff. The stuff that happens in my daily life. Mostly, I write about things the kids have done. Sometimes, it is about the stuff on my mind. It started out as a daily diary of what went on that day (even the very mundane). Then it went (gulp) public. I still try to write (almost) every day about the things that go on…yes, even the mundane.
When I was very little, my parents vacationed in Hawaii (without us kids). They brought me back a key chain that had my name on one side: Cindy. And Kini on the other. Apparently, ‘Cindy’ in Hawaiian.
I am new to blogging, really new. Mostly my blog is an hodgepodge of family reality in the South.
Pick me, I have a really good reason….I am the parent of a teenager and college!
Can I nominate my children.
It is called Have Kids Will Travel, subtitled
Prefield ministry through the eyes of 7 children.
We are missionaries to the Mapuche People of Argentina and Chile on prefiled ministy.
The nine of us travel the US in a 39 foot trailer and the kids write about it.
Nanci
Just heard about this through Simply A Musing Blog and I’m not too shy to NOT nominate myself. A little sheepish maybe. I’m a pastor’s wife, mother of 2 boys and I LOVE to laugh. Sometimes I’ll write some serious stuff, but mostly any old topic will do. Come check it out!
My blog’s still newborn – a little over a month old. It’s a support site for work at home moms and moms who would like to work from home. I have a daily job bank also. And sometimes I just get a wild hair and throw something in there because I like it!
